6-6:30pm is Socializing and Catching Up time
6:30-8 is Demo and bead making of Lamp Work Beads – taught by Pamela Way
8-8:30 is Show and Tell time. We show what we’ve been working on or finished.
At the May 23 meeting, we will have a demonstration and possible activity.
During the demo, you will learn some of the fundamentals of flameworking with soft glass, including how beads are formed/shaped and decorated.
While I’m working, I’ll share some of the common mistakes new flame workers make as well as safety tips for working with hot glass. I also invite questions – I can’t promise I’ll have every answer, but I’m willing to share what I can.
After watching the demo, those who are interested can try making a bead.
After the demo I’m happy to answer the more logistical questions, such as where to buy supplies (and what supplies to buy), where to find classes, etc.
If you’re not a member, you can attend 1 meeting free to see what we’re about.
