I’d like to take a moment to say farewell to one of our Local Bead Stores (LBS), Nomadic Notions, located on West Anderson Lane. A couple weeks ago, we found out that not only did owners Robert and Gemma Corbin sell the store after 25 years, but that the new owners would not be maintaining a brick and mortar presence–they are closing their doors. I learned many new stitches and techniques as a recipient of many wonderful classes from Ayana, Ashley, Danielle, Jessica , Laura and Theresa. I met new beading friends of all skill levels during their Bead Brunch. You will sorely be missed.
In light of the store closing, they are offering 30% off all inventory and all July classes will be conducted so now is your chance…stock up on Swarovski crystals and take a class or two. From the beaders of the Austin Bead Society, we wish you well in your future endeavors.
Well it’s that time…time to reveal the President’s Challenge for July…you ready? Drum roll please….the stitch Challenge for the month is the Pondo Stitch aka the African Circle Stitch. I’m including a link to a blog that tells a little bit of the history of the stitch…
Happy Beading!
