August 24th Meeting
Presented by Sally deGraffenried.
From the time I was small, playing with my siblings (unsupervised!) in our grandfather’s workshop, I have loved creating random objects of art with screws, nuts, bolts, nails, telephone wire, etc. Art Deco Machine Age jewelry must have been inspired by such love.
Here’s your chance to create your own machine age earrings.
I will be bringing an assortment of screws & nuts & such in small sizes. But, not knowing how many people will be showing up, please feel free to bring whatever hardware thrills and inspires you (and is not too heavy to dangle from your ears!).
You will also need to bring:
E-6000, jewelry tools (chain nose, round nose, wire cutters, etc), Craft Wire (24 or 26ga. 22Ga if making your own earwires); Any findings, jump rings, chain and big-holed beads you may want to use.
Available for purchase will be some earring findings, big-holed beads, and an assortment of base metal chain.
